This Day (Eat It, Germany! Edition)

On this day in 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed, ending what was then known as the Great War. During the peace settlement talks, Woodrow Wilson convinced the other major powers, including Britain, France, Italy, and Japan, to approve the League of Nations, but the final treaty was harsher than Wilson had planned and further alienated Germany.

As if that mattered … right?
