The above video is worth watching if you care about how world historical sites might be preserved and made accessible in this day and age—when technology allows us amazing virtual access and when groups like ISIS threaten to, well, blow everything up.
But it’s also worth watching because it features the work of our own Peter Hedlund, Encyclopedia Virginia‘s programmer, identified here as a Data Visualization Specialist. Which he most certainly is. Here he shows off the cool and important work he’s done in Iraqi Kurdistan for the World Monuments Fund, work that we’re also doing at EV.
